.. is that NITS are the PITS!

I'm not a big fan of traditional head lice shampoos. Even if they do kill lice as they claim, it's doubtful that they can kill a nit (a lice egg). Most shampoos say to treat again one week later and this is because a new batch of baby lice will have hatched by then. So, while shampoos may work on lice, they don't penetrate a lice egg to kill the little creature inside.

Nits or lice eggs must be removed manually with the best quality nit comb you can buy. If the comb doesn't cost at least $25, it's not the quality you need. Choose a comb with stainless steel teeth set closely together. Tines should be at least one to two includes long and very sturdy.

NITS are the PITS and they are the reason many families experience repeat cases. A case that pops up three weeks after you first treat it, is likely the same case -- just a new batch of babies have hatched, mated, and the life cycle has begun again.
