It's time for pharmaceuticals to start releasing new head lice treatment products "just in time for the back to school season." This common marketing pitch leads people to believe that the autumn is prime time for lice.
Not true. Lice is with us year round. In fact, in my local Lice Squad business, July was a record month. And this isn't to do with summer camps. It's to do with parents noticing cases and possibly having the time to treat and take care of lice. Perhaps parents are on the look-out after summer camps or overnight getaways.
Every week throughout the year, parents are advised to inspect for lice, especially if they notice their children scratching their heads. Ten minutes of combing each week, with a high-quality nit comb like the NitFree Terminator comb, will detect lice early and treat it before it has time to spread.
