... is that it takes a community.

I was reminded again last week by a mom who is exasperated trying to get rid of lice in her daughter's hair.

In early June, lice was identified in her daughter's class and a note went home to parents. Presumably, everyone checked and treated. But three weeks later, this mom found more lice in her daugher's hair. This time, the school refused to send another letter home, stating "we just recently sent a note home." It's pretty safe to say that head lice remained active in that class and is now being spread to unsuspecting kids at summer day camps.

Everyone MUST work together in a community to eradicate lice. If you don't think your school is doing a good job, talk to the principal about regular head lice checks. Ask home and school to help organize regular screening. Assemble a group of parent volunteers. Or call in the pros at Lice Squad. Our regular check-ahead program costs just $2 per head. http://www.licesquad.com/
